If your budget is tight, you are not off the hook for romance. While traditional romantic gestures, like flowers and chocolates, can cost quite a bit, there are many cheap things you can do to show the one you love that they are special to you. As a side benefit, these ideas are much more fun than simply buying a bouquet of flowers.
Create a Spa at Home
Set up candles, put on some soft music, and fill the tub full of bubbles. Enjoy a warm bubble bath together. Then, take turns giving each other a massage, complete with soothing oils and lotions. This will help you relax as you enjoy being with one another.
Write a Letter
You see the one you love on a regular basis, but sometimes telling her just how much she means to you is difficult. You often forget to voice your feelings, and she is left feeling forgotten. One way to remedy this and to spice up the romance in your relationship is to writer her a letter. List all of the qualities about her that you appreciate, and tell her in simple words just how much you love her and how happy you are that she chose to be with you.
Homemade Gift Certificates
Create a booklet of gift certificates for your loved one. On each one, write something that you will do for her. A massage, a kid-free evening, dinner out, or simply a set amount of time to talk without outside interruptions are all great ideas. Is there a chore she particularly hates to do? If so, make this one of the coupons. Whenever she wants to turn one in, she can, and you will provide the service without question. This can easily be done for your guy as well. Just make the coupons appropriate for his needs and wants.
With these three great ideas in mind, romance can live without breaking the budget. In fact, some of the ideas are more romantic than simply buying an expensive gift to show your feelings. Be creative and unique, and do not let romance die just because money is tight.
